Kids Music Beat’s popular school holiday ‘Music in the Park’ program returns to Roma Street Parkland during the Easter school holidays.
This outdoor event is for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Our Music in the Park program is part of the Roma Street Parkland ‘Sprouts in the Park’ program.
This is a free family event, no bookings are required.
For the Easter events, we are taking inspiration from the Commonwealth Games and including a range of ‘sporting’ activities such as ribbons for gross motor dancing (rhythmic gymnastics) and throwing (javelin), scarves for dancing (artistic gymnastics), hoops for coordination (hurdles) and more!
There will also be lots of singing along to Australian songs (with a selection of age appropriate Australian folk songs for kids) and playing musical instruments.
The session will end with the children participating in the Australian Commonwealth Band – each will have a drum or shaker to play while we ‘perform’ and sing the National Anthem, Waltzing Matilda and a song we will compose especially for the occasion.
The dates are:
- Wednesday 04 April 2018
- Friday 06 April 2018
- Wednesday 11 April 2018
- Friday 13 April 2018
We will be offering music in three 30 minute sessions:
- Session 1: 9:00am – 9:30am
- Session 2: 9:45am – 10:15am
- Session 3: 10:30am – 11:00am
Join the Kids Music Beat team for Music in the Park at The Amphitheatre (undercover stage located in the upper parkland) for all the musical fun!
Refreshments are available from Melange Cafe on Parkland Boulevard, overlooking the Celebration Lawn. The Roma Street Parkland is a great family day out and is easily accessible by public transport located adjacent to Brisbane Transit Centre and the Roma Street Railway Station.
This in an all weather outdoor event so we’ll be boppin’ in the park even if the weather turns bad (unless it gets really bad). Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
Please email Miss Penny if you have any questions.
