Organisations

Hear and Say is a world-leading Paediatric Auditory-Verbal and cochlear implant centre. The organisation has been teaching deaf children to listen and speak since 6 July, 1992. Founded by Brisbane Speech Pathologist Dr Dimity Dornan AO, Hear and Say’s name was chosen to emphasise that children living with hearing loss can learn to listen and speak. The blue butterfly logo is a symbol of the deafness our children overcome, as butterflies can’t hear

Down Syndrome Queensland is a registered charity established by parents in 1976. Staffed by a small, dynamic team of full-time and part-time staff, Down Syndrome Queensland provides a range of services and supports throughout the large and diverse state of Queensland. The team is supported by a number of wonderful volunteers including a Board made up entirely of volunteer parents with services funded through grants, sponsorships, donations, membership fees and fundraising.

Voices of Birralee is a Brisbane based non-profit child and youth choral organisation founded in 1995 by Artistic Director, Julie Christiansen OAM. It now comprises six ensembles which have attained a remarkable level of professionalism and are highly acclaimed by national and international audiences. Many of our Boppers go on to sing in the Birralee Piccolos and Birralee Kids ensembles.
