Meet our new RMTs Belinda and Catherine
During August Music Beat Therapy Services was thrilled to welcome Belinda Thurlow and Catherine Vesic to our growing music therapy team.
Both Belinda and Catherine are experienced Registered Music Therapists (RMTs) who have been working clinically for a number of years using music to support individuals and their families across various populations.
Belinda has been working therapeutically for over 10+ years in mental health, disability and aged care and has worked extensively in both clinical and community settings. Belinda has completed additional training in neurological music therapy, complex trauma, sensory processing, motivational interviewing and coaching skills.
Belinda spent the foundational years of her career at Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Australia as a therapist and clinic operations manager. She has also been a tutor and lecturer at Western Sydney University (music therapy) and more recently, works as behaviour support clinician for the NDIS.
Catherine returns to the Music Beat family! Some of you may remember her when she was a part of our teaching team before moving to Sydney. Catherine joins the Music Beat Therapy Services as a Registered Music Therapist, bringng with her a diverse musical background, having studied classical voice, piano and musicianship from an early age. Catherine has a Master of Music Therapy through the University of Melbourne and an undergraduate degree in Health Science (Speech and Hearing) through the University of Sydney.
Catherine has worked as a Registered Music Therapist in private practice, supporting neurodiverse children and their families, as well as in preschools, hospital wards, government health facilities and nursing homes, both in Australia and internationally.
Belinda and Catherine join us as we continue to build our NDIS registered music therapy services across Brisbane. Today, we are providing music therapy services to children, adolescents and adults of all abilities to help them turn their NDIS plans into action. We are dedicated to access and equity in music therapy services, best practice and continuous improvement in the services we offer.
