New clinic-based music therapy services at Nundah

This week we are thrilled to announce the opening of our new clinic-based music therapy service, which will be located at the North East Baptist Church in Nundah on Brisbane’s northside.

From the new premises, our team of Registered Music Therapists will offer clinical music therapy services for children and adults of all abilities in an easy to access location.

Music Beat Australia Founder and Managing Director, Dr Vicky Abad said having a dedicated therapy space will offer a positive experience for families.

“It creates the right sensory and therapeutic environment for us to help people achieve their goals. These can be they physical, psychological, emotional, cognitive or developmental.

Music therapy incorporates a range of music making methods in a therapeutic setting to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals.

“Our Registered Music Therapists are university trained to Masters level and are registered with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA).

“They have studied all aspects of music performance, history and theory, in addition to psychology, physiology, social theory and models of therapeutic intervention.”

Dr Vicky said Music Beat Therapy Services provides client-focused, individualised therapy plans based on each person’s unique situation.

“Sessions can be one-to-one, or in small groups and can also include family members, friends or carers.
