Sophie Hopstick

Sophie is a vocalist and percussionist whose love of music was established, nurtured, and cultivated by her mother and grandmother. She plays a wide range of instruments including guitar, piano, drums, and ukulele.

Soph learnt a wide range of percussion instruments during her schooling years but grew a liking to the drum kit, which led to many performances and bands throughout her highschool years. Soph continues to play drums and piano, sing and perform whenever she can.

She enjoys performing as much as she can, which has seen her playing in art exhibitions, nursing homes, and even her local Bowls Club.

Sophie, a fourth year student, is studying a double degree in Creative Industries (Music) and Human Services at QUT, in hopes of becoming a music therapist.

Her favourite songs are ‘Scar Tissue’ by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and ‘Great Gig in the Sky’ by Pink Floyd, but do not fear! Sophie loves the Hokey Pokey.
