Music Beat Kids – Weekly Music Groups
Only one child can attend per booking.
Please note we cannot offer family discounts due to restrictions on our venue space and numbers. If you would like to bring two children you are very welcome to book two spots in the same group for them to both attend with you.
Make up classes cannot be guaranteed due to Covid-related restrictions. Please note that makeup classes are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.
If a lockdown is declared during a term we will offer Online classes instead. We cannot offer credits.
You will not be able to turn up to a class that you haven’t booked for as our venues are restricted by numbers.
We are not able to refund any money for missed classes.
By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions when confirming your booking, you confirm that:
You will not attend any groups if you or your child are sick.
You will wash your hands prior to entering our sessions and as you leave the room.
You will wait in the allocated waiting area with appropriate social distancing between you and other families before the class starts.
If you would like to sit on a cushion in groups you will need to supply this from your own home as we will no longer be able to supply this from our end.
There will be a slight change to session times, with sessions running for 40 minutes to allow for increased cleaning duties and regular sorting of equipment before the next class starts.
Please note that we are not allowed to encourage you to socialise after classes due to social distancing rules so once the session ends we ask that you kindly refrain from socialising indoors.
Shared strumming of the guitar at the end will no longer be allowed but we can give a virtual strum with your little ones sitting in your lap and strumming in the air as we hold the guitar up.
Story time will also be taken with your little person sitting on your lap.
Our old shared sticker time will also not be allowed under the new compliance rules so instead we will offer a ‘sticker as you leave’ option where you are welcome to grab a sticker on your way out from a pre shown place.
Our instruments will be handed out per child when we begin the class and once used you will put them back into the container that they were handed out from so that we can clean them properly after the session.
Any instruments that were mouthed during the session will need to go in a separate bucket that will be shown to you at the beginning of the session.
All Standard Terms and Conditions apply.
Full payment is to be paid on or before your first session.
Please note that makeup classes are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.
You can join a group at any time during the term and will be charged a pro rata fee. Your fee will be automatically calculated for you when you Register.
Please note there are no refunds or a credit for the following term if you miss a class, but we will do our very best to get you in to a makeup lesson if and when possible.
We do not offer refunds if you change your mind, go on a holiday, return to work or are unable to attend your sessions. When you make a Term Booking we hold your place for the whole term. If you know you will be traveling or returning to work we offer casual rates (if spaces are available) so that you can pay as you go.
Family rates are applicable for registering two or more siblings for a Term Booking. Our registration will only process payment for the first child, we will contact you to process the balance payment. Per child rates apply for starter, casual, and trials.
You can also register for one $20 Trial session if you are new to Music Beat Australia and have not previously attended one of our groups. One $20 Trial session per customer, per child. Once you have completed your $20 Trial we require you to register for a Term Booking, or purchase a Casual ticket to continue attending. We do not offer refunds if you miss your Trial Session, but you can reschedule (space permitting) providing you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice.

We are committed to music lessons being fun, interactive and child-centered. We work to match the teaching techniques and the teacher to each child’s learning style. Sometimes this may require us to change their lesson books, or even their teacher. We will always work with you on this to make sure you are informed and supported in this process.
EXPECTATION Learning an instrument and musical literacy is fun and it TAKES TIME.
Children need time to attain a grasp on the instrument they are learning, and to settle in with their teacher. This is why we do not offer a service less than one term block (a full term), exactly the same as swimming lessons. Without consistency your child won’t gain any confidence, nor have their curiosity in the instrument piqued after some “wins”.
Don’t expect great enthusiasm or joy after every single lesson. Sometimes, we work hard and early lessons can be a bit daunting. Come and talk to us if you have concerns but we think your child will settle in well.
PRACTICE Learning an instrument requires practice.
For younger students, most practice technique is covered in class and we will brief you on this process at the close of each lesson, or send home notes. Home practice can be short and should be fun. We will help the children develop effective practice techniques, but supervised home support is vital.
Older children are required to practice more often and with purpose to see the best learning outcomes.
Please note if you have signed up for the shorter lessons it is even more imperative that practice occurs at home between lessons as we won’t have as much time in lessons to do practice. Rather the lesson time needs to focus on revision and learning new material and techniques.
Progress (and more importantly, their pride of progress) will be hampered if children are not supported to practice at home with regular (scheduled) practice times.
Terms of Service:
It is the responsibility of the parent/carer or after school care staff to ensure your child arrives on time for their lesson, with their instrument and book and is escorted either to school, home or back to care after the lesson.
If a teacher is absent due to illness or emergency, the lesson we will offer a make-up lesson within the term. If this fails, one lesson fee will be credited to your next term account.
If a student is absent and you can provide us with 24 hours or more notice, we will do our best to find a make-up lesson time within the term. There is no guarantee of this but we will do our best.
If a student wishes to change instrument, we adhere to our term block policy and if the desire is still in play at the end of the term we will make arrangements to accommodate the change.
We will supply the music books for your child and invoice you for payment. The cost of materials is in addition to lesson fees*.
As a courtesy to our busy families, and to support the long term learning goals of your child, we hold spots for current students for the next term unless we are notified in writing of the intent to discontinue to [email protected]. If we do not hear from you please note Terms of Payment below for this situation.
